I’m waiting for an appointment to have some nerve tests done. I’ve had slight numbness in the ring finger and little finger of my left hand for years now. I had just been putting up with it as it wasn’t much of a problem at first, and doctors told me it was because of arthritis in my neck.
Over the last few years though it has gradually worsened. I have hardly any feeling in those to fingers any more, and the problem has spread to the side of my hand and my wrist. It’s also causing me a lot of pain. The latest doctor now doesn’t think it is the arthritis causing the symptoms and I’ve been referred through the musculoskeletal clinic to have nerve conduction tests. Apparently the only hospital that does it in my area is about 17 miles away, but luckily I’ve got my daughter to take me there.. Strangely enough, she went for the same tests earlier this year and ended up having an operation. Coincidence or what?
