A Weekly Round Up

8 Mar

No particular topic today.  I Think my brain has been on a “go slow” just lately.

Four weeks now without smoking. I’m already feeling so much better. Less out of breath. Let’s see what happens in the next four weeks.

Our cockatiel pair have finally produced an egg. Not sure if there will be anymore. This one (if fertile) should hatch in three weeks time. Puts a new slant on having a bird for Easter.

Harry & Sally

Soon to be parents

We are having our female Staffie (Penny), spayed on Tuesday, so no babies there. It will be fun trying to keep her from bounding around after the op…not.

Penny, watching me on the laptop.

Accrington was on TV again, This time on BBC’s News Night programme.

It was about the changes in welfare benefits. The programme featured a local charity, which deserves a post of its own in the future…but not necessarily for good reasons.

Another Smiley Dog

8 Oct

No photo though this time though, sorry.

Just had Penny,  our  8 month old Staffordshire Bull Terrier out for a widdle, using the extendable lead. All of a sudden she turns towards me showing all her teeth, looking for all the world like she’s laughing. What’s she up to? I thought. Went up to her for a closer look. Her teeth were wedged together with chewing gum. Managed to get it all out eventually, after a few stretches.

It looked so funny at the time, but if she’d swallowed it there could have been complications I’m sure. Had visions of her getting a blockage.

It’s bad enough on your shoes, never mind in a dog’s gut. Another reason people need to be more thoughtful what they discard

Best Of Friends

Friends Our two dogs, Penny the Staffy and Bobby the Cairn.

They love each other really.

She annoys him sometimes, but then he is a grumpy old man!

The Real Story

Loving this video, it’s just spot on. The music goes so well with it too.

Nice One Cesar

12 Aug

This is spot on. Well said Cesar.

Even back in the ’60s, in the UK  it was German Shepherds. Or Alsatians as they were known then.

I hate it when something happens and the press show a picture of a crazed snarling dog, giving the impression that a whole breed is like that.

These days in the UK it seems to be Staffordshire Bull Terriers that are getting the bad name..pit bulls being an illegal breed over here.
